St. Aloysius Chapel - A temple tour to Mangalore

The next day morning I woke with a dream of visiting the great Chapel. I had read the reviews about this Chapel and I was waiting to see the same. This is the finest Church that I have ever visited till date. An old eagle was sitting on the topmost cross inviting us to the Chapel. We went a day before Christmas, and everyone were busy getting ready for the mass. So we thought that we were unlucky as the church was closed at that moment. But a person came and made our day by opening the church and explaining everything in and about the church.

The Chapel was a marvelous standing architecture which is same as that of the church in the Rome. Before entering the church, I was wondering like what makes this church that much special? The specialty is the paintings all over the inner walls, pillars, ceilings, etc... The paintings made us speechless for a while. The guy explained us everything about the paintings. The paintings were too good. That too the coloring in the pillars made me to tell “wow”. There is another reason to make us spell bound. The whole paintings were done by a single man in the span of 2 years.

Mobiles and Cameras are not allowed. Do kindly follow that, as the reason for that is signals from mobiles and rays from camera are spoiling the paintings.

How to reach the church:

The place is easily communicable, as it is situated at a distance of only 1 km from the bus stand of the Nehru Maidan. So do not miss this.
